Assoc Prof David Wan Tai Wai

David Wan is an Associate Professor, Human Resource Management Programme, at the S R Nathan School of Human Development. He has been Head of Programme for both its Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in HRM/HCM at SUSS. He graduated with a PhD from the Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, UK with his dissertation topic on Unionisation, Professionalism and Trade Unionism: The Case of Qualified Nurses in the North of England

David developed, coordinated, and taught a module on “Industrial Relations” at the Singapore Institute of Labour Studies, NTUC (now the Ong Teng Cheong Labour Leadership Institute or OTCi) in the early 1990s. 1990 is the year when SILS was first founded. He is currently a member of OTCi’s Academic and Examination Board. He has served as a council member of the Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI) for more than 10 years and is currently the Chairperson of SHRI Academy’s Academic and Examination Board, as well as a member of the Institute for Human Resource Professionals Assessment & Insights Committee since 2024.
